Mark Allen Group, which owns numerous events and media titles across niche sectors, has acquired the Glazing Summit conference from the Ascot Group.
The move strengthens Mark Allen’s position within the glazing sector while Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of the event organisers, Insight Data and Purplex Marketing, will remain closely linked to the event.
“We held our first sector-specific event in 2018 and it’s gone from strength to strength with a first-class conference and gala dinner. This year we had almost 500 industry professionals attend the event tackling the biggest issues facing the industry.”
Over the last 37 years Andrew has acquired, built and sold several businesses and launched marketing specialist Purplex in 2004 to advise companies on business and marketing strategy.
In 2007 he launched Insight Data to provide in-depth market intelligence, with detailed information on companies across the construction and home improvement sectors.
“Mark Allen Group specialises in events such as the Glazing Summit and is ideally placed to take the event forward. Insight Data and Purplex will continue to support the Summit as it goes from strength to strength, while I look forward to spending more time working closely with clients as the UK faces some challenges ahead.”
Ben Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Mark Allen Group stated:
“The Glazing Summit is an excellent addition to our portfolio of brands in the glazing sector. Andrew and his team have done an outstanding job in developing the event and we are delighted that Insight Data and Purplex Marketing will continue to support the event under our ownership”.
The move represents a strategic move by Ascot Group to step out of major events and focus on core business activities. Andrew Scott previously built Business Leader Magazine, the UK’s leading publication and major events business for high-grow and entrepreneurial businesses, which was acquired in September ’23 by Richard Harpin, CEO and founder of the £4 billion HomeServe PLC business.
