A 10km Walk for a Local Cause
Hundreds of people came together in Weston-super-Mare for an evening of community spirit, fundraising and support for a cause close to home.
Members of the Ascot Group team joined the Weston Hospicecare Moonlight Beach Walk, taking on the 10km route to help raise vital funds for the local hospice.
Starting and finishing at the iconic Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare, the walk brought people from across the local community together for an evening of walking, fundraising and supporting Weston Hospicecare.
For the Ascot Group team, it was a great opportunity to take on a challenge together while supporting a charity that provides essential care to local people and their families.
Taking on the Moonlight Beach Walk

The Moonlight Beach Walk saw hundreds of participants take to the Weston-super-Mare seafront for the 10km challenge.
With the Grand Pier providing the start and finish line, participants made their way along the coast as part of an event designed to raise awareness and funds for Weston Hospicecare.
And there was plenty to keep everyone going along the way. Fun, Run & Bass brought upbeat music to the event, helping to keep spirits high and providing an extra boost for walkers as they made their way around the route.
While completing 10km was a challenge in itself, the atmosphere made the evening particularly special. Participants were surrounded by friends, families, colleagues and members of the wider Weston community, all walking for the same cause.
The Ascot Group team were proud to play their part.
Why Weston Hospicecare Needs Community Support
Weston Hospicecare provides compassionate care and support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.
The charity plays an important role within the local community, but providing this care comes at a significant cost.
It is estimated that it will cost £6.9 million to run Weston Hospicecare this year, with just 20% of its funding coming from the NHS. This means community fundraising and donations are essential to help the hospice continue providing its services.
Events such as the Moonlight Beach Walk provide an important opportunity for people and businesses to come together, raise money and show their support for the hospice.
Every participant and every donation can contribute towards helping Weston Hospicecare continue its vital work.

At Ascot Group, being a part of the local community is important to us. The Moonlight Beach Walk was a great example of how people can come together behind a shared cause.
Seeing hundreds of people taking part was a reminder of the incredible community spirit in Weston-super-Mare. Whether participants were walking with friends, family or colleagues, everyone was there to support Weston Hospicecare.
For our team, it was also a chance to spend time together outside the workplace while doing something positive for the local community.
