At The Ascot Group, we believe that supporting our local community is just as important as helping our clients grow. That’s why members of our team recently returned to Somewhere To Go, a Weston-super-Mare homelessness charity that has been transforming lives for more than 25 years.
Having volunteered with the charity before, our team was delighted to spend another day giving back, supporting both the charity’s facilities and its fundraising efforts.
The team got stuck into a range of hands-on tasks to help the charity continue its incredible work. Some volunteers refreshed parts of the building by painting the walls, helping to create a brighter and more welcoming environment for everyone who visits the centre. Others spent the day supporting the charity’s busy shop, sorting through donated clothing and household items, checking donations, and organising and hanging stock ready for sale.
Every item sold in the Somewhere To Go charity shop helps raise vital funds to support the charity’s services, making these behind-the-scenes tasks an important part of its fundraising efforts.

Based in the heart of Weston-super-Mare, Somewhere To Go is a local charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing homelessness, social isolation and other complex challenges. Since opening its doors, the charity has provided a safe and welcoming place where people can access practical support, nutritious meals, shower facilities, clean clothing, healthcare services and advice to help them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Alongside its frontline support services, Somewhere To Go also operates a successful charity shop, where donated clothing, accessories, homeware and other pre-loved items are sold to raise essential funds. Every purchase and donation helps the charity continue providing life-changing support to vulnerable people across the local community.
The charity’s work is only possible thanks to the generosity of volunteers, local businesses and supporters who give their time, money and donations to help those most in need.
