In November 2025, Ascot Group founder and CEO Andrew Scott took to the stage at TEDx Bristol, held at We The Curious, to deliver his talk titled “Purpose: The Power to Rise Again.”
For any speaker, stepping onto the famous red circle is an extraordinary challenge. There are no notes, no autocue, and no comfort monitors. Every word must be rehearsed, memorised, and delivered with complete authenticity. It’s a process that takes months of preparation, hundreds of hours of rehearsal, and an unwavering commitment to getting the message right.
Andrew’s talk explored the powerful link between purpose and performance; how reconnecting with a clear sense of purpose can transform individuals, teams, and businesses. Drawing from his personal journey, early adversity growing up during the Troubles in Northern Ireland, to building and leading the Ascot Group – he shared how purpose became the driving force behind resilience, leadership, and long-term success.
At the heart of the talk was Andrew’s PURPLEX model – Purpose, Plan, Execute, the framework he uses across the Ascot Group to align vision, strategy, and action. The model is now used to help entrepreneurs, leaders and organisations rediscover clarity and direction.
Speaking about the experience, Andrew said: “Standing on that red circle was one of the most humbling and intense experiences of my life. You don’t just deliver a talk, you share a piece of yourself. My hope was to inspire others to find meaning in their work and in their lives.”
The TEDx Talk will be released in 2026 on the official TEDx platform. It represents another milestone in Andrew’s ongoing mission to help individuals and organisations unlock their full potential through purpose-driven leadership.
