It all started in 2004 from a dining room table.

When Andrew Scott launched his business and marketing consultancy firm, Purplex, in 2004 he had a dream of building a world-class business. 3 years later, in 2007, he opened an office above an estate agent and took on his first employee.

Over the last 20 years the Ascot Group has evolved and diversified, becoming a multi-million turnover group with 100+ employees and operations in marketing, technology, media, events, property and private equity investing.

The structure was formalised in 2012 when Ascot Group (Holdings) Ltd was incorporated as a holding company. Still very much a family business, it operates from dedicated offices near Bristol, adjacent to junction 21 of the M5 and Worle mainline train station, and today is still privately owned by the founder and CEO, Andrew Scott.

In 2023 a strategic review led to the exit of the Group’s high profile media and events company, Business Leader Ltd, acquired by world-renowned entrepreneur Richard Harpin, founder of the £4 billion Homeserve PLC business and Growth Partner, his private equity firm. The Ascot Group also sold its conference venture to the London-based Mark Allen Group.

This has allowed the Group, and its founder Andrew Scott, to focus on its core mission of helping companies grow through its world-class marketing and business information brands, alongside a property investment strategy and equity investment to support other entrepreneurs.
