The Somerset Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its Construction Connections event in Glastonbury, bringing together faces from across construction and building products in the South West. Purplex Digital Director, Adi Day, attended on behalf of Purplex and the Ascot Group.
One of the standout moments of the event came from Dowlas Property Group, a Purplex client, who shared an update on their restoration of The Baily’s Buildings in Glastonbury town centre.
The project will transform two long-derelict historic buildings into a hub for local start-ups, small businesses, and growing companies. It’s an ambitious development that will bring new life to a significant part of Glastonbury’s high street and create genuine opportunities for the region’s business community.
The Ascot Group, and Purplex, works with businesses across construction and building products. We love attending events like Construction Connections because they keep us close to the sector, the people in it, and the challenges they face day to day.
Adi Day, Digital Director at Purplex, said:
“Construction Connections was a well-organised event with a strong mix of businesses in the room. The update from Dowlas Property Group on The Baily’s Buildings was good to hear. It was great to represent Purplex and the Ascot Group, and I came away having had some really valuable conversations! It was a nice chance to step away from the desk for a few hours and spend time talking to people in the industry, hearing different perspectives, and making some new connections.”
